Thanks for the awesome learning materials

Hello! I’d like to share my sincere appreciation with Mr. Workman and everyone else who may have contributed to Happy Coding. Truly, thank you so much for creating and sharing all these wonderful, informative, friendly tutorials and articles. For free, even!

I found the site a few months ago and since then I’ve been gradually working my way through the materials and following along with YouTube videos. I spend my lunch breaks at work learning and practicing new skills with the website I made (a sentence that six months ago I would never have imagined I’d write).

The positive, beginner-friendly attitude throughout Happy Coding helped me feel capable of even trying to learn. I’d always taken it for granted that coding was a skill accessible only to much smarter, more creative people. I just “knew” it would be too difficult for me. Turns out it’s not quite as intimidating as I expected!

Thanks for helping me find the confidence to start a new hobby.

I’ve been bad at checking the forum, but oh wow, what a nice message to find!

Thank you so much for your kind words, and let me know if you have any questions. And you should totally share the website you’ve been working on!

Well, I appreciate the encouragement! There’s nothing particularly impressive on there to be worth showing off, but feel free to check out distant land dot net anyway (actual link wasn’t postable). There are a few basic pages of video game-related content. I actually changed jobs and haven’t had free time to continue working on it since then, but once things calm down I’d like to get back to it. As a longer term goal, I think it’d be great to make something a bit more professional-looking to house my resume.
